Identity Design: MyScout

Project Overview

Design Focus: Website and print design, experience design

MyScout and the associated learning materials are meant to support the overall goals of Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization, a Ukrainian-based international organization that focuses on teaching youth important life skills and honoring their Ukrainian heritage. The website, MyScout, is aimed at helping scouts to keep track of their progress and what they have accomplished. The website also allows for easy group interaction, lesson coverage, and news updates both within the chapter and beyond. The learning materials were created to serve as a visually interesting and more accessible way to learn crucial elements of Plast and its history.

Logo and Colors

I incorporated a major element of the uniform, the neckerchief holder, into the letterforms so that its identity and association would be recognizable. Since this project was made to represent the official Plast organization, I integrated their color palette and body typography.

Educational Booklets

The History of Plast and Oaths booklets were designed to make important knowledge more accessible to scouts. The history booklet expanded on information available online while remaining short enough for young children. The oaths booklet combined a number of often-recited oaths and hymns from various parts of the website so that scouts could have the information on hand, while being presented in an engaging and colorful format. It was designed to be either two separate publications or one dual cover copy.
