I worked for The Burr for over two years, beginning as a graphic designer and ending as the Art Director. During my time, I learned about editorial design and photography, and discovered my love for both. Being a part of The Burr was important to learning how to work with a creative team and collaborate to make a visually cohesive project, and being the Art Director gave me a sense of how to lead such a team. In addition, I won some awards during my time, honoring my photography and web graphics work.
Spring 2026
I worked as Art Director for my senior year, and the Spring 2026 issue was my second semester in the position. I worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the Photo Editor to create a visually cohesive issue. The style guide was updated to match the overall theme, and continued to manage a team of designers and illustrators to produce a visually compelling and organized print issue as well as keeping up with web content. Beyond the magazine itself, I worked to implement certain changes to ensure smoother operation of production.

Fall 2025
I began the Fall 2025 semester as the Art Director, and right away put together inspiration and new branding. I chose new typefaces and altered the color palette, and worked to lead a new team and ensure that work was evenly distributed.

Podcast Logo
One other project I did during this time was creating the logo for the newly launched podcast, "Blabbing with The Burr". I utilized some of our existing color palette and podcast imagery to create this logo.
Spring 2025
I worked as a designer and photographer for this edition, which included putting together two spreads as well as photographing the cover images and staff photos.
